Celtic are prepared to let Moussa Dembele join Lyon, but only in the January transfer window as they do not believe they can replace him with so little time before the deadline.

Dembele has been wanting to leave Celtic all summer and his future has come to a head in the final hours of the transfer window.

Brendan Rodgers has flat out refused to sell the player despite receiving offer from Lyon and that has left the Frenchman aggrieved at the Celtic manager.

The player has reportedly held a one-on-one meeting with Rodgers today, but Celtic remain unmoved on not allowing him to leave on the final day of the window.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, the Scottish champions are ready to sell the 22-year-old striker to Lyon, but only during the January transfer window.

Celtic are confident that they would have enough time to scout and find a replacement for Dembele to leave Parkhead once the window opens in January.

Dembele remains adamant about joining Lyon today, but for the moment he has found an unmoved Celtic hierarchy and time is running out for him to push for a transfer.

On the other hand Lyon are also floundering in their efforts to bring in an attacker on the final day.
