Celtic have completed the signing of Youssouf Mulumbu on a two-year deal and the midfielder is delighted to have joined the Bhoys.

Mulumbu, who scored his first goal for Kilmarnock against Celtic in a 1-0 win at Rugby Park last season, has put pen to paper on the deal after completing a medical earlier today.

The Congolese midfielder brings with him a huge wealth of experience that he attained during his spells with West Brom and Norwich City and is expected to bolster Celtic’s options in midfield as they prepare for a long campaign.

The 31-year-old admitted that he is excited to join his new team-mates at Celtic Park and added that it is always a special feeling to play at the ground.

“I walked on to the pitch when I signed and it felt amazing. These are the reasons we play football”, Mulumbu told the club’s official website.

“My immediate focus is to stay fit and ready and be 100 per cent ready.

“I’ve played at Celtic Park as the opposition and it’s a special place to play, so I’m looking forward to being part of the team and playing there.

“I cannot describe how amazing this day is for me, but it’s one step to the other. I have signed but now I must work hard to play”, he added.

Mulumbu is expected to be available for selection against Rangers in the Old Firm derby clash on Sunday in the Scottish Premiership.
