Marseille have ended their interest in signing Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, with club president Jacques-Henri Eyraud confirming that their summer recruitment is over.

Dembele, who was left out of Celtic’s Europa League playoff second leg squad against FK Suduva last night, has been the subject of interest from a number of clubs, with Lyon having made a bid for his services.

Brendan Rodgers has reiterated his desire to keep the player at Celtic Park, but Dembele is hoping a move to Lyon can happen.

Marseille have been another potential destination for Dembele, but Les Phocaeans’ president Eyraud has now revealed that the recruitment at the Orange Velodrome is officially over.

“Marseille's recruitment is over”, Eyraud told reporters in a press conference.

Celtic are about to enter a nervy final several hours of the transfer deadline as they fight to keep hold of Dembele.
