Chelsea legend Clive Walker thinks the Blues' meeting with Cardiff City after the international break is all but a home banker.

Maurizio Sarri's men continued their perfect start to the Premier League season by beating Bournemouth 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday and following the international break they will play host to Neil Warnock's Cardiff.

The Blues' next match is at home against Cardiff and they will start as heavy favourites to pick up another three points.

Walker, who admits that games are not played on paper, has struck a confident note about the chances of Sarri's side continuing their perfect start to the campaign against Warnock's men.

"Football isn't played on paper, but Cardiff at home – if there ever is a home banker you'd like to think that was the one", Walker said on Chelsea TV.

The Chelsea legend believes that the Blues cannot afford to pass up chances to take the three points because at some point in the campaign they will have a dip in form.

"I think whatever the teams coming up after that, keep taking these three points.

"They mean a massive amount when a part of the season comes where you have a dip in form", Walker added.

Cardiff have yet to record a top flight win this season so far and have drawn two of their three league encounters.
