Romelu Lukaku has stated that Manchester United showed 'a lot of character and mentality' in their win at Burnley, with fans responding to the striker's assessment on social media.

The Belgian was the star turn at Turf Moor by scoring two goals inside the first-half as Jose Mourinho's side secured all three points to move into the top half of the table. Speaking to MUTV, Lukaku said: "We needed the win. We are Manchester United, this is how we have to play in every game.

“In the first half we showed a lot of quality and in the second half we showed a lot of character and mentality", he added. Twitter user and Manchester United fan Avinash Singh loved the way Lukaku said 'We are Manchester United' although Portugal The Man wasn't happy with his finishing, citing several missed chances.

That Mech Kid! belives the team need to convert their oppurtunities and need to keep the performances up 'week in week out'.

Swagata Das though thinks the team need to play better than they did against Burnley, stating that a team 'always' need to play better than they have done before.

Meanwhile, Ifrat Mitul questioned Lukaku's failure against the 'big' teams, saying that he can only score against the likes of Burnley and talk loud about it.

While Threshold Creativity again emphasised the Belgian missing easy chances, The Reign reckoned it is Lukaku's time to shine and get more goals this season.
