Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has insisted that he is not feeling any pressure because of his price tag at Stamford Bridge.

The west London club decided to trigger the release clause in his contract with Athletic Bilbao and forked out world record sum in excess of £71m for a goalkeeper to snare him away from the Basque outfit.

With Athletic Bilbao known for being adamant about release clauses, Chelsea decided against pursuing any negotiations and paid out the buy-out figure to take Kepa to Stamford Bridge.

The 23-year-old, who has become the most expensive goalkeeper in world football overnight, stressed that he is working towards focusing on his own game at the moment.

He believes his price tag is just a result of how the market has behaved over the last couple of years where transfer fees have shot up significantly.

Asked if the world record fee is a burden on his shoulders, Kepa told Spanish sports daily AS: “No, I am focusing on my game.

“The price is like that because of the market and higher and higher figures are being paid.

“And I see it as the consequence of the present market.”

Liverpool paid in excess of £66m this summer to snare Alisson away from Roma earlier in the summer before Chelsea smashed the record with Kepa’s capture.
