Ryan Christie believes his spell at Aberdeen has helped him to deal with the pressure of getting positive results every week, which he feels will stand him in good stead at Celtic.

The attacking midfielder spent last season on loan at Aberdeen and played a key role in helping Derek McInnes' men finish second in the Scottish Premiership behind Celtic.

Back at Celtic in the summer, the 23-year-old is eyeing a regular spot in Brendan Rodgers’ starting eleven and believes he has learned a lot from his spell at Pittodrie.

Christie feels the pressure to get results week-in-week-out at Aberdeen is similar to what players feel at Celtic and believes the loan spell helped him to get used to such expectations.

He is certain that his time at Aberdeen has shaped him better to shoulder the burden of playing for a club of Celtic’s stature.

Christie told Celtic’s official website: “One of the reasons I went, apart from playing, was the real pressure at Aberdeen.

“There’s a huge pressure at Celtic to win every week and there is that at Aberdeen too.

“It’s something in football you have to get used to, especially as an attacking player to have some of that pressure on your shoulders, week in, week out, and to create and score goals.

“Hopefully that’s something I can bring back to Celtic.”

Christie has made five appearances for Celtic this season, but is yet to feature in a starting eleven for the team.
