Former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor insists that he would love a move to Celtic as he believes that playing for such a reputed club would be an honour.

The 31-year-old is a free agent after leaving the Villans at the end of the season and insists that he is open to move out of England, with Celtic being an interesting option.

The former England striker witnessed Celtic Park at close quarters on Saturday, scoring in a Celtic shirt after taking part in a charity match for cancer research.

Expressing his excitement, the striker said that every player, if given the chance to represent the club, would happily take it. He also took time to throw light on the atmosphere of Celtic Park in a Glasgow derby.

"I think every player if they had the chance to play for Celtic would take it”, Agbonlahor was quoted as saying by the Herald Scotland.

"Can you imagine playing in front of 60,000 people inside this place.

"I told one of the lads I'd get sent off in the first minute due to adrenalin and sheer excitement.

"I have always thought what a great stadium this is and that it produces a magnificent atmosphere especially during Old Firm games. "

Agbonlahor spent 17 years of his career at English club Aston Villa, managing a total of 391 appearances, scoring 86 goals.

He left Aston Villa at the end of the season after the club decided not to renew his contract.
