Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita has admitted that the Premier League is a tough challenge for every player, but the Guinean says that he is confident of making an impact due to his diligence and commitment.

Keita, who joined Liverpool in the summer from RB Leipzig in Germany, has already caught the eye at Anfield with his dazzling performances in midfield for the Reds.

The midfielder started all three of Liverpool’s opening games so far this season before dropping down to the bench and later making an appearance as a substitute against Leicester City before the international break.

The 23-year-old boasts of experience playing in France, Austria and Germany before making the switch to England, but has accepted that the nature of the Premier League is more challenging than any of its counterparts.

However, the Liverpool star added that he remains confident about his chances of making an impact in England due to his desire and motivation to remain at the top level.

“I think it’s fair to say that the Premier League is a tough league”, Keita told the official Liverpool FC magazine.

“I’m very motivated to be playing in it – it’s an attractive proposition – but I’ve been told by many people that a lot of overseas players come into the Premier League and they take time to integrate, depending on the circumstances.

“So playing in the Premier League can be difficult, but I am very motivated to play here, not just for myself and my team-mates, but for the club.

“Everybody around me has been very supportive towards me so I am certainly giving everything I can to get settled into the team quickly”, he added.

Keita has been handed Steven Gerrard’s iconic number eight shirt at Liverpool.
