Paris Saint-Germain coach Thomas Tuchel has reiterated his desire to keep Liverpool target Adrien Rabiot at the club, amid persistent speculation surrounding his future in the French capital.

Rabiot was left out of the France World Cup squad that triumphed in Russia during the summer and the midfielder opted to remain unavailable for the standby list due to his omission from the squad.

The midfielder has been linked with a move away from PSG and Premier League sides have shown interest, with Liverpool the latest mooted as keen.

PSG were able to fend off interest in the player in the summer, but the uncertainty surrounding Rabiot’s future continues to remain.

The 23-year-old has emerged as a potential target for some of Europe’s top clubs this season, but Tuchel has dismissed any rumours suggesting he might leave by reiterating that he wants to lock down Rabiot for more than one reason.

"I love working with Rabiot", Tuchel told French radio station RMC.

"I really like Adrien, he had a difficult situation when he voluntarily missed the World Cup, but his effort with the team has been maximum, he has not missed any training.

"He can be adapted to any system and if he is physically well he is essential for our approach.

"He has great potential and is a player trained in the club.

"It is very important to have footballers of this nature”, he added.

Rabiot has played every single minute of PSG’s league campaign so far under Tuchel and scored in their 3-0 win over Caen during the opening weekend.
