Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that the Bhoys have to remain patient with Manchester City loanee Daniel Arzani and manage the expectations around him with caution.

Arzani, who joined Celtic on a two-year loan deal after signing for the Premier League champions in the summer, has been hailed as a monumental talent Down Under.

The winger became the youngest player to feature at the World Cup in Russia and impressed when he came off the bench for the Socceroos during their Group C clash against Denmark.

The 19-year-old has drawn comparisons with Harry Kewell back in Australia, but he is yet to feature for Celtic and is still only getting accustomed to life in Glasgow.

Rodgers, who sat down with Australia coach Graham Arnold during the international break to talk about Arzani and the other Australians at Parkhead, admitted that it is important to remain patient with the youngster.

"Daniel hasn't played 90 minutes of football, here or in Australia", Rodgers was quoted as saying by STV.

"This is a young player who burst onto the scene back home and is regarded as a talent.

"But he is very new into his life as a professional and has just been with us for three weeks.

"It's the adaptation to a new country, new club, new football.

"It's just time, he's a talented young player and the idea with a talented young player is to go from a talent to a professional.

"It will be our job to manage the expectation, every young player in Australia they hope can be the next Harry Kewell.

"Harry was a special talent but Daniel is a young boy who has talent, over the coming years we will see if he the commitment to go with the quality he has", he added.

Arzani is not expected to feature against St Mirren on Friday night as Celtic prepare for the return of Scottish Premiership action after the international break.
