Chelsea defender David Luiz has claimed that Maurizio Sarri’s attitude towards life is the reason why the Italian is enjoying his time on and off the pitch.

The Blues have won all four of their opening games in the league so far this season under the newly appointed Sarri and are only behind Liverpool on goal difference in the standings.

Luiz, who was a peripheral figure under Antonio Conte last season, has rejuvenated his career at Stamford Bridge under Sarri this term.

The Brazilian has played every single minute of the Blues’ Premier League campaign so far this season and continues to remain at the top of the pecking order, despite Chelsea shifting to a back four this season.

The 31-year-old, who was a key figure when Chelsea last won the Premier League title in 2016, went on to claim that Sarri’s high success rate in London is due to his attitude towards life and that his philosophy revolves around enjoying every day.

"First of all he's a great person, great as a human", Luiz said in an interview with Chelsea's official magazine.

"I think his philosophy to live life is already great because he wants to enjoy every day, he wants to be happy and he wanted to take this opportunity to start one more chapter in his life.

"I think that is one of the most important things in life; when you love to do something, when you're happy.

"So, I believe in this philosophy, and then after that he is a great coach.

“He wants to play with the ball, he wants to play with intensity, to work on the details and to give us all the information he can about the next game and the opponent.

"Every week he tries to make the best plan possible for the exact game and this is great because he is working in the best way for the team, for the collective", he added.

Luiz will be aiming to build on the clean sheet that Chelsea managed to keep against Bournemouth as they prepare for more challenges in the coming weeks.
