Liverpool loanee Loris Karius has revealed that quotes attributed to him recently are wide of the mark, as he has not given any interviews since arriving in Turkey to join Besiktas.
Karius did not make clear which quotes he was referred to, but an article published in Turkish daily Fanatik had said that the 25-year-old was enjoying the attention from fans in the country, with most of them being female.
The article attributed the quotes to Karius, who is at Besiktas on a two-year loan and may never return to Liverpool.
However, the German goalkeeper insists he has not spoken with any media outlets since landing in Turkey.
"Since arriving in Turkey I haven't had any interviews. The news and quotes that have been published are not true", Karius wrote on Twitter.
"That's something I wanted you to know."
The former Germany Under-21 international joined Besiktas on loan this summer after falling down the pecking order at Liverpool with the arrival of Alisson from Roma.
Karius has since featured in one Turkish Super Lig game, conceding a lone goal.
