Brendan Rodgers is hopeful of including Celtic’s new signings Youssouf Mulumbu and Filip Benkovic in the Bhoys' upcoming games as his side approach a busy period of the season.

The Scottish champions lost Moussa Dembele to Lyon in the eleventh hour of the transfer window, but managed to bring in players as well in the last minute.

Celtic picked up Mulumbu, 31, on a free transfer towards the end of the transfer window and snapped up Benkovic, 21, from Leicester City on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Rodgers had stressed the importance of strengthening his squad over the entire summer and the club finally managed to add more bodies to his team towards the end.

The Celtic boss is aware of the importance of having options and is confident that he will be including the two new faces in his squad in the next few weeks during a busy period of the season.

Rodgers said in a press conference when asked about the two new Bhoys: "We're hoping they will come into the squad for upcoming games.

“They'll get opportunities as we have a busy schedule of games between now and Christmas."

Celtic, who are second in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment, will travel to St. Mirren on Friday night.
