Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has claimed that Ruben Loftus-Cheek is now ready to take his chance with the first team at Stamford Bridge under Maurizio Sarri this season.

Loftus-Cheek, who made his first team debut for Chelsea in 2014, has struggled to nail down a regular place with the Blues ever since then.

The Englishman spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace and his impressive performances under Roy Hodgson at Selhurst Park earned him a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the World Cup in Russia.

The midfielder was lauded for his promising performances in Russia during the summer and opted against leaving Chelsea for better opportunities during the transfer window to fight for his place under the newly appointed manager.

Kante, who returned to Chelsea as a World Cup winner with France, went on to claim that the youngster is now finally ready to take his chance with the Blues this season.

"When I came to Chelsea Ruben was already here and for sure he is a good player", Kante was quoted as saying by beIN Sports.

"Now he's in the England squad. He did well last season at Crystal Palace and I think he's ready to play.

"He's played some good games and now it's the manager's decision.

"We all have the chance to be at Chelsea and to play with some of the best players in the league.

"We can all learn from that, but he needs to keep working, to keep improving and I hope it will come at the right time”, he added.

Crystal Palace expressed their interest in taking Loftus-Cheek on loan during the transfer window and Roy Hodgson has admitted that the Eagles' interest remains.
