Former Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo has insisted that he would not be shocked to see Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba return to the Italian champions.

Pogba returned to Manchester United from Juventus for a then world record transfer fee of £89m during the summer of 2016.

He won four Serie A titles and played in the Champions League final during his time at Juventus, but chose to return to Old Trafford when Jose Mourinho took charge of Manchester United.

However, his relationship with the Manchester United manager has been rocky since the end of last season and there is speculation that he is eyeing the exit door at Old Trafford.

Super agent Mino Raiola has reportedly been in talks with Juventus over Pogba potentially returning to Turin and Pirlo conceded that he would not be surprised if the deal sees the light of day in the upcoming transfer windows.

“It would not surprise me”, the former midfielder told Tuttosport when asked about Pogba possibly returning to Juventus soon.

“Juventus are looking for the best players.”

Pogba himself has done little to end the rumours surrounding his future at Manchester United and has added fuel to the speculation.
