West Ham attacker Robert Snodgrass insists that the Hammers' win against Everton last weekend was crucial as it gives the side confidence to head into the game against Chelsea believing that they can win.

The Hammers registered their first win in the league on Sunday, winning the match 3-1 and in the process removed themselves from the Premier League relegation zone.

The 31-year-old insists that West Ham have a good squad and need to make sure they can keep winning at the London Stadium.

And as such, Snodgrass says there is belief that West Ham can put rivals Chelsea to the sword.

“The most important thing for us was to get that win on Sunday and give ourselves confidence to go into these games believing we can beat Chelsea and believing we can beat the best teams”, the winger told his club's official website.

“We are a very good team and when you get the confidence from winning away from home, you need to take it back to your home stadium and win there too.”

Snodgrass also took time to stress the need to develop a bond between the players and the fans at their home ground, and says wins will crucial to that.

“It’s up to us and the fans to get that bond between us in that stadium and that starts with winning football matches.”

The match against Chelsea will be followed by a fixture against Manchester United at the end of the month.
