Former Manchester United midfielder Quinton Fortune has urged Paul Pogba to become more consistent after a masterclass performance in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Pogba scored a brace and provided the assist for Anthony Martial’s goal in the second half as Manchester United posted a comfortable 3-0 victory over Young Boys in Berne.

The Frenchman was in his element in Switzerland and showed the quality he possesses with the first strike, where his quick feet created a yard of space and he found the top corner from the edge of the penalty box.

Fortune was delighted to see Pogba score such a goal of quality in the Champions League and feels it is the kind of performance Manchester United should demand from him every week as he has the potential in his locker.

The former midfielder said on MUTV’s Matchday Review programme when speaking about the first goal: “The feet, the one-two and I like the positiveness of what he did.

“But the just quick feet on the edge of the box to take it on his left foot, the so-called weaker foot, and to put it in the top corner was of the highest standard.

“This is what he is capable of doing and we want to see him doing this on a regular basis and add more consistency as we know that he has got that in his locker.”

Manchester United will hope the midfield star carries on in the same vein when they host Wolves at Old Trafford on Saturday.
