Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has stressed the need for his team to regain their confidence after a string of disappointing performances and believes that winning games will help do that.

The Lilywhites have lost all their games this month, with two in the Premier League and one against Inter in the Champions League.

The run has put pressure on the Londoners, pushing them down the table and increasing the gap between themselves and table toppers Chelsea.

The Argentine manager insists that the only solution to the problem is to get back to winning ways as soon as possible.

Giving his view on the Champions League match against Inter in Italy, Pochettino said that his team were good for most of the match and deserved to win. Pochettino dubbed the performance his side's best of the campaign.

"I think we were happy because the performance was good. Until 85 minutes I think the team played so well and deserved to win. But the line is so thin and that was against us", Pochettino said at a press conference.

"I think the way we conceded the first goal and at the end, I think that can happen in this situation.

"I’m disappointed with the result but of course happy because the team improved a lot.

"I think it was our best performance from the beginning of the season.

"That is a very good signal that we are in a very good way.

"Only we need to recover our trust and confidence, and of course winning games is the only way to recover that."

Tottenham's next game will be against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
