Legendary former AC Milan and Italy coach Arrigo Sacchi has insisted that it was Tottenham Hotspur’s carelessness that allowed Inter to steal the points on Tuesday night.

Tottenham looked like winning away at the San Siro in the Champions League through a Christian Eriksen strik in the second half, but Mauro Icardi and Matias Vecino scored two late goals to sink Spurs in Milan.

The result stretched Spurs' losing run to three games in all competitions and the pressure on Mauricio Pochettino and his team has been immense over the last few days.

However, legend of the game Sacchi pointed out that Inter were absolutely dominated by the north London side for 85 minutes of the game and it the away team’s carelessness that found them a route back into the game.

He admits that Inter sensed the panic in the Tottenham side after Icardi’s goal and went for the jugular in injury time.

“Inter were dominated by Tottenham for 85 minutes”, Sacchi told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“But then they take advantage of the carelessness of the English team.

“And they unleashed themselves and went for the killer blow following Icardi’s goal and won the game.”

Tottenham are now under pressure to get something when Barcelona visit Wembley for the next Champions League group game next month.
