Lou Macari believes that Manchester City and Liverpool are displaying the kind of football Manchester United should be playing at the moment.

A 1-1 draw at home to Wolves has piled the pressure back on Jose Mourinho and his side as they find themselves slipping further away from the top echelons of the Premier League table.

Complaints about Mourinho’s style of football at Old Trafford are not new, but with the results also not coming, the clamour to play more attacking football is increasing.

Macari indicated that it is even more painful to watch Manchester United these days because of the kind of football Manchester City and Liverpool are playing at the moment.

He stressed that is the kind of style Manchester United were associated with and the club should be aspiring to play with such panache, which they are not at the moment.

“Unfortunately when you watch City and Liverpool play, it’s fast and furious”, Macari said on MUTV’s The Paddy Crerand Show.
