Leeds United star Mateusz Klich has insisted that one defeat will not change the fact that the Whites have been playing well and are still at the top of the Championship table.

The Yorkshire giants crashed to their first league defeat of the season last weekend when they lost at home to Birmingham City but they are still at the top of the standings on 18 points.

The defeat came as a shock as Birmingham were winless in the league before the two sides met last weekend and Leeds were widely expected to take care of business at home.

However, Klich conceded that at some point Leeds unbeaten run had to end as it would have been almost impossible to sustain such a sequence throughout a tiring a Championship campaign.

The midfielder told LUTV: “We knew it was going to happen anyway, as it would have been difficult to remain unbeaten in this league for 46 games.

“It was a tough game, we could have won but we didn’t.

“So we focus on the next game.”

Klich feels one defeat won’t change the way Leeds approach games as they are still in good form and continue to be at the top of the Championship table.

“We are still at a top of the table and we are playing well.

“And one loss cannot change everything.”
