Mateusz Klich has insisted that the defeat to Birmingham City at the weekend did not dampen the spirit inside the Leeds United camp.

Leeds crashed to their first defeat of the season in the Championship when Birmingham City beat the Whites 2-1 at Elland Road on Saturday.

The loss came as a shock as Blues were still looking for their first win before the game and Leeds were expected to do a job over them in front of the home fans.

However, Leeds are still at the top of the league table on 18 points and Klich stressed that the loss last weekend had little effect on the good spirit inside the squad.

The midfielder said on LUTV: “The mood is good.

“We lost the game but obviously the mood is good as we are still at the top of the table.”

The Pole insisted that Leeds are aware of the quality they have and says that they can beat anyone in the league at the moment.

He admits that the players are just focused on winning games and sustaining their momentum.

“We know we can play well and we are not afraid of anyone in this league.

“We just want to play games and win as that’s the only thing that matters at the end.”
