Barcelona will not make a bid for Paul Pogba in the January transfer window if they do not see any change in Manchester United’s stance over the player’s future, according to the Times.

Footage emerged on Wednesday of a training ground spat between Jose Mourinho and Pogba. While it has been suggested that it was over a misunderstanding due to the midfielder’s social media activity, the rift between the two has been widening.

The French midfielder has serious misgivings about Mourinho’s man-management style and his tactics and would be open to a move to Barcelona in the coming transfer windows.

Barcelona wanted to sign the player in the summer, but Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward made it clear that the midfielder is not for sale.

Woodward’s stance on the matter has not changed and Barcelona are unlikely to make another bid for Pogba in the January transfer window.

The Catalan giants are aware of Manchester United’s stance on Pogba and are not keen to make any futile efforts to sign him if they don’t receive any encouragement from the Premier League giants themselves.

Manchester United are still maintaining they won’t entertain offers for Pogba and Mourinho also has Woodward’s support, which suggests his job at Old Trafford is also safe for the moment.

Unless results absolutely go in the wrong direction in the coming weeks and months, Manchester United are likely to stick with the Portuguese.
