Manchester City Interest In Tottenham Hotspur Target Isn’t Dead

Manchester City have continued to keep tabs on Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, who was the subject of a summer bid from Tottenham Hotspur, with a view to a move next summer.

Ndombele’s performances in his first season at Lyon attracted a flock of clubs and serious interest in signing the player during the recently concluded summer transfer window.

Tottenham were keen to take him to north London and had a bid rejected in the summer, while it emerged recently that Manchester City failed with a €50m bid to sign the player at the end of last season.

Lyon rejected all the overtures and it also helped them that Ndombele was not in any mood to leave the Ligue 1 giants after just one season.

However, the interest in the midfielder has not receded and according to French magazine Le 10 Sport, Manchester City have continued to keep a close eye on his performances at Lyon.

A Manchester City scout was present to watch Ndombele in action against Nice on 31st August, but he is not the player the club were scouting.

Manchester City also watched Nice’s 18-year-old attacking midfielder Wylan Cyprien, who is a favourite of Pep Guardiola.

The Premier League champions are plotting a fresh assault to sign Ndombele next summer, when the player could consider a transfer.
