Tottenham Hotspur legend Graham Roberts has insisted that Spurs have the ability to beat anyone in Europe and is confident that they will get a result against Barcelona next week.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have recovered from a dip in form with two good results and are approaching the next few games in a more upbeat and confident mood.

Roberts believes Tottenham have picked up their pace in the last couple of games and despite the defeat at Inter in their first group game, they look more settled ahead of the Barcelona game at Wembley next week.

Asked if Spurs are ready to face the Catalan giants, the Tottenham legend said on the Boys From White Hart Lane podcast: “Yes, I think we are.

“In the last two games, we have picked up. I think we did alright on Saturday, we did pretty well and we got the winning feeling back.

“I thought we dominated the Inter game but we didn’t score the goals.”

Tottenham met Real Madrid in the group stage last season and earned a draw in Spain, before beating them 3-1 at Wembley as they qualified for the last 16 as group winners.

Roberts believes if Tottenham can show the same kind of approach against Barcelona, there is no reason to not beat the Catalan giants as Spurs have the ability to get a result against any team.

“Barcelona will be totally different, they are going to have a lot of the ball but I think we played against Real Madrid twice, home and away, if we approach it in that manner and the boys are ready, then we can beat anybody.

“I am very confident that the next three games we have got, we will win all three.”
