Genoa general manager Giorgio Perinetti has insisted that the club are not considering selling Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool linked striker Krzysztof Piatek in the January window.

The Serie A outfit paid a sum of €4m to sign the Poland striker in the summer from KS Cracovia and he has repaid their faith in spades.

Scoring nine goals from the opening seven Serie A games, the 23-year-old has taken Italian football by storm and there are already suggestions Juventus, Roma and Napoli are considering offers to sign him.

He has also been linked with a move to England with Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham believed to be keen – but Perinetti has indicated any possible transfer will have to wait.

The Genoa general manager insisted that the club are not going to discuss the possibility of selling Piatek in January.

He told Italian outlet Tutto Mercato: “In January, we are not going to even talk about it.

“He’s our player and we’ll keep him.”

Perinetti indicated there is more to come from Piatek, even if he is not likely to keep his current goalscoring rate going in the coming weeks.

“Meanwhile, we are studying him and we are hopeful he will give us more satisfaction.

“He cannot score every weekend, but the work he does is important.”
