Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to play the waiting game to sign Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur midfield target Tanguy Ndombele.

The Parisians are interested in getting their hands on a defensive midfielder in the January window and Ndombele is their top target for the role.

However, Lyon are unlikely to agree to his departure in the winter window and Ndombele has also claimed that he wants to wait until the end of the current season before considering a move.

PSG are keen to get a midfielder in soon, but according to Buzzsport.fr, the French champions are prepared to wait until next summer to sign the 21-year-old.

While they need a defensive midfielder in their squad, the club could opt against signing a stop gap option in January in order to take Ndombele to the Parc des Princes at the end of the season.

The Frenchman has emerged as one of the most sought-after young midfielders in Europe and even Tottenham and Manchester City are interested in snaring him away from Lyon.

Tottenham and Manchester City put in bids for him during the summer, but Lyon knocked them back.

The Ligue 1 giants are expected to ask for big money if clubs knock on their door for Ndombele next summer.

And it seems PSG are prepared to tread carefully in order to snap up their number one defensive midfield target.
