Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Daniel Arzani and Eboue Kouassi have picked up serious knee injuries and are set to miss the rest of the season.

The Scottish champions have been dealt a double blow in the form of Kouassi and Arzani picking up knee injuries and they are now expected to be out for the campaign.

The duo were not regulars in the Celtic squad this season, but Rodgers has expressed his disappointment in seeing the two pick up long-term injuries at this stage of the season.

He admits that Kouassi and Arzani were putting in the effort on the training pitch to get into the reckoning for selection in the team.

Rodgers said in a press conference when asked about the pair: "Unfortunately, it looks like cruciate injuries for both Daniel Arzani and Eboue Kouassi.

“It's disappointing for them because they've been working hard to get into the team."

While Kouassi will undergo his treatment under the supervision of the Celtic medical team, Arzani is expected to return to parent club Manchester City for his treatment and rehabilitation.

It remains to be seen whether Rodgers looks to spend in January to replace the duo despite their limited time on the pitch this season.
