Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino insists he has no issue with the Spurs fans booing his decision to take off Lucas Moura against PSV Eindhoven, but is happy his changes worked.

Spurs registered a 2-1 comeback win over PSV Eindhoven at Wembley during their make-or-break Champions League Group B clash on Tuesday.

The visitors took the lead through Luuk de Jong as early as the second minute, but a late second half brace from Harry Kane helped Tottenham secure three important points on the night.

Pochettino had withdrawn Lucas, much to the disappointment of the home fans, who booed at the decision, just after the hour mark, but his decision that facilitated a change in formation helped the hosts inject life into their Champions League campaign.

The Tottenham manager admitted that he understood the emotion of the fans who were right to go against him, but claimed that he was happy that they agreed with his decision by the end of the game.

“I understand, I like it because after nearly five years I think it's the first time that they've been critical of me and didn't agree with me, but in the end 2-1?” Pochettino laughed in a press conference.

“Look it's always difficult to take decisions, of course the fans are disappointed. They want to play with nine or ten strikers when you are losing the game.

“But we tried to find solutions and the solution was to put Fernando Llorente on and how arrived the goal was Llorente was there for Harry Kane or to help in the one or other side with the full-backs pushing higher with Trippier.

“It's to find a different way to play.”

Pochettino also thanked the fans for their backing and support throughout the night and insisted that it is important to have various approaches to find the back of the net.

“Sometimes people say ‘Oh, Pochettino doesn’t have a Plan B or Plan C’”, he continued.

“But the most important thing was to have a plan, and then, like today it was good to have a different way to approach and to score goals.

“But I have nothing to say about the fans, I am so happy so grateful and I understand their reaction, maybe if it was me in the stand I should be the same but I am so happy.

“For me only I can tell the fans thank you because coming again to Wembley, supporting the team and making the effort, we cannot ask for more”, he added.
