Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur target Tanguy Ndombele has emerged as a midfield option for Barcelona.

The France midfielder’s future at Lyon was under the scanner in the summer, with Tottenham tabling a bid to take him to England, but the negotiations never took off.

Ndombele did not want to leave Lyon and the club were prepared to hold on to him for one more season before considering selling him at the end of the current campaign.

Manchester City and Tottenham have continued to keep tabs on him, but according to Catalan daily Sport, the Frenchman has also been on Barcelona’s radar.

Adrien Rabiot and Frenkie de Jong are Barcelona’s top midfield targets, but the club are also keeping an eye on Ndombele should they fail to land the top names on their wish list.

Barcelona technical secretary Eric Abidal has been in touch with Lyon and the player’s entourage to discuss the midfielder’s possible move to the Nou Camp.

Lyon are rated as being reluctant to sell Ndombele in January, however the French giants could be tested regardless.
