Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed that he is interested in signing Wolves and Liverpool defensive target Jean-Clair Todibo during the January transfer window, telling the talent that he can follow the path of Kalidou Koulibaly.

The 18-year-old made his debut for Toulouse earlier this season and has locked a place down in their defence despite his tender years.

His performances have attracted the interest of clubs such as Juventus, Liverpool and Wolves, who are looking to snap him up next summer when he will be out of contract.

Napoli are also keen to sign the young centre-back, and De Laurentiis has confirmed that he is willing to negotiate a transfer with Toulouse during the winter window.

And the Napoli supremo also revealed that his club have a clear vision of what they want to do with Todibo, as they look to guide him in the same way as Koulibaly.

He told Italian daily Corriere dello Sport: “We would like to take him and let him play elsewhere [until the end of the season].

“And then add him in June.

"Just like with Koulibaly.”

Toulouse remain keen to see Tobido sign a new contract with the club, but have indicated that money is the youngster's main focus at present.
