Celtic defender Mikael Lustig has admitted that will move back to Sweden to see out his career, but is unsure of the exact timing.

Lustig’s current contract with the Hoops comes to an end in June 2019, but Celtic have the option to extend the 31-year-old’s stay by an additional year.

Reigning Swedish champions AIK are interested in Lustig’s services and the defenders said it is up to Celtic to decide whether they want to keep him or not, but admitted that he will move back to his homeland eventually.

“It’s in my contract and it’s up to Celtic, so we will see what happens in a couple of weeks”, Lustig was quoted as saying by the Herald.

“Celtic have an option to take up.

“We’ve done it before, but they are always trying to improve the team. That’s normal.
