Arsenal and Liverpool target Ousmane Dembele has not asked to leave Barcelona in the January transfer window, it has been claimed.

The Frenchman has found it hard to nail down a place in the starting eleven since completing his big-money move from Borussia Dortmund to Barcelona in the summer of 2017.

Dembele’s attitude has been a subject of frustration for Barcelona and he was also dropped from the squad before the last international break after he went missing for a brief period and the club could not contact him.

The Frenchman’s struggles have led to speculation that Barcelona could consider offers for him in the summer and there were also suggestions that Dembele wants to leave in the winter window.

However, according to Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo, that is not the case and the Frenchman has not requested a transfer away from the Catalan giants in January.

Dembele scored against Atletico Madrid at the weekend and is looking to earn the confidence of his team-mates and coach Ernesto Valverde over the coming months.

His agents recently met the club to discuss the forward's situation and Barcelona are keen to see him develop into the player they all hoped he would be when they paid a fee north of €104m for him last year.

Dembele remains an attractive talent for many clubs in Europe and Arsenal and Liverpool are said to be keeping tabs on his situation at Barcelona.
