Paris Saint-Germain have been in touch with the entourage of Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur linked midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

The 21-year-old Dutchman has emerged as one of the most sought-after midfielders in European football over the last few months.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are trying to tempt him to move to Spain, while Manchester City and Tottenham are leading the charge for the Premier League in the chase.

PSG met the representatives of the midfielder last summer, but nothing fruitful emerged from the talks between the two parties.

But the Parisians have continued to keep their gaze on De Jong and according to French sports daily L’Equipe, PSG again met the player’s entourage recently to discuss a proposed move.

PSG have identified the Dutchman as a possible target for next summer, but are acutely aware that they would have to beat off competition from the some of the major names of European football.

The stranglehold of the Financial Fair Play regulations is also expected to be a hindrance and PSG’s spending could be curtailed at the end of the season.

However, the club continue to track De Jong and the recent meeting suggests that they are actively trying to sign him.
