Liverpool legend Steve Nicol admits that he is confident Jurgen Klopp’s men will not be beaten by Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain tonight in the Champions League.

The Reds will travel to Paris for their crucial Champions League meeting with PSG in Group C at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night.

Liverpool have suffered defeats during both their games away from home in the competition this term, against Napoli and Red Star Belgrade respectively, and are currently level on six points with leaders Napoli.

However, Klopp’s men can move into pole position to secure their berth in the knockout stages if they come away with maximum points from Paris.

Nicol, who won four league titles at Anfield during his playing career,  is confident Liverpool will not lose against PSG.

The former Liverpool defender also added that the pressure is on PSG to perform and that could work in favour of the Reds, who are capable of exploiting the hosts on the break.

“I’m confident Liverpool won’t lose this game”, Nicol explained on ESPN FC.

“Both Liverpool and Napoli have comfortably defended already against PSG, okay Neymar and [Kylian] Mbappe may be not hurt, but they certainly won’t be at their sharpest.

“I think the pressure is all on PSG to come out and they have shown that defensively they can be got at.

“And Liverpool are so set up to keep a good solid line and then use that pace in the attack, the way they do it the best, to punish PSG.

“So I’m going into this game very confident to be quite honest.”

Liverpool registered a last-gasp winner through Roberto Firmino when the two teams met at Anfield and played out an entertaining 3-2 score-line in the reverse fixture in September.
