Arsenal have joined the queue of clubs who are interested in signing Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar, who is also a target for Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool.

The 20-year-old midfielder has been on the radar of few clubs in Europe but he really grabbed the headlines with a performance against Manchester City in the Champions League this week.

Pep Guardiola praised the young midfielder and it has been claimed that Manchester City got in touch with his entourage about the prospect of him moving to the Etihad.

Lyon are said to have rejected an approach from Chelsea, while Liverpool have also been keeping an eye on the Frenchman for over two years.

But it seems there is more Premier League interest in Aouar and according to French sports daily L'Equipe, Arsenal are also keen to get their hands on the young Frenchman.

The 20-year-old has managed to attract the interest of the Arsenal board, who have been continuously looking at signing talented young players.

But Lyon are not keen to lose Aouar next summer and the club hierarchy have been in touch with his representatives over the midfielder’s future.

Lyon and the player share a good relationship and the club are confident of warding off interest in him for the time being.
