Chelsea legend Clive Walker feels Blues manager Maurizio Sarri will already have a plan in his mind for Manchester City when the two sides square off next weekend.

The west London outfit beat Fulham 2-0 on Sunday and have a midweek game against Wolves in the Premier League before they host league leaders Manchester City on Saturday.

Walker explained that Sarri will have a formula to deploy against the league leaders and it may be a rigid midfield setup to stop Pep Guardiola’s side from playing their usual game at Stamford Bridge.

“I think City is in his mind, but I don't think he can pick the side for City, but he can pick the formula, the way he wants to set his side up”, Walker told Chelsea TV.

“So it might be about three solid midfield players against City, rather than a Ruben [Loftus-Cheek] or a Ross Barkley.

“As long as players are fit and available then I think that's in his head.”

Sarri and Guardiola have faced each other three times, the most recent game being the FA Community Shield match in August, and the Italian is yet to win against the Spaniard.

Chelsea are seven points behind Manchester City, who have dropped just four points so far this season, and Sarri’s side will hope to challenge the Sky Blues when the two square off on Saturday.
