Vincent Kompany believes Manchester City never lose focus, after his side beat Watford 2-1 at Vicarage Road to establish a five-point lead over second placed Liverpool in the Premier League.

Leroy Sane put the Citizens ahead in the 40th minute, while Riyad Mahrez doubled the visitors' advantage within five minutes of the start of the second half.

Manchester City dominated possession, but were made to work for their win and Watford gave themselves hope when Abdoulaye Doucoure pulled one back with five minutes left.

Watford even sent goalkeeper Ben Foster up at set pieces as they piled on the pressure, while Pep Guardiola brought off striker Gabriel Jesus for defender Aymeric Laporte as he sought to shut up shop.

For Kompany, Manchester City managed the game well and the experienced defender insists that they never lose focus.

"It was a good old Premier League game, as soon as they scored long balls start coming, they are extremely physical up front", he was quoted as saying by the BBC.
