Chelsea legend Tommy Langley believes Marcos Alonso could be in for a tough game when the Blues host Manchester City on Saturday, with Citizens attackers Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling licking their lips at facing him.

Alonso looked shaky against Wolves as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side emerged 2-1 winners on Wednesday night to condemn Chelsea to their second defeat in three games.

The Blues will hope to bounce back in the next Premier League game, but will have to be at their best if they are to stop Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

Manchester City’s wingers looked impressive as Riyad Mahrez and Sane got on the scoresheet against Watford on Tuesday.

Guardiola could utilise Raheem Sterling against Chelsea after giving the England international a breather against Watford.

Langley feels the Manchester City wide attacking duo will be looking forward to the game against Chelsea considering Alonso’s poor run of form in recent games.

“They [Sterling and Sane] will be sat in their hotel room tonight rubbing their hands [at facing Alonso]”, Langley said after the match on Chelsea TV.

“But I think he'll stick with him because is it a game to throw Emerson in?

“It could be a tough night's work for him on Saturday.”

Sterling has been in good form for Manchester City this season, having scored eight goals in 12 Premier League appearances so far.
