Hertha Berlin talent Arne Maier has conceded that he would rather play for Manchester United than Arsenal, but admits it is a pleasure to be linked with the Premier League powerhouses. 

The 19-year-old midfielder has been turning heads with his performances for Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga, while he has also been capped by Germany at various youth levels and is currently turning out for the country's Under-21s.




Maier's potential has been noted by a number of clubs and he has been linked with Arsenal and Manchester United, something he is not unhappy about.

He told German daily Bild, when asked about talk he is being watched by the Premier League giants: "I take note of that and that's good as well. It is nice to hear something like that."
 


The Hertha Berlin talent was pressed on whether he would rather be a Red Devil or a Gunner, and gave the Old Trafford giants a boost.

"In general, it is my dream to play for a big top club and win trophies there.

"But there is still plenty of time left [to do that]", Maier added, indicating he is in no rush to move.

Maier came through the youth ranks at Hertha Berlin and has established himself as a key man for the Bundesliga outfit.

The teenager has made 15 appearances across all competitions so far this season for Hertha Berlin, operating in a defensive midfield position.
