Eddie Gray has highlighted an aspect of Leeds United’s mentality this season that has stood out in their performances under Marcelo Bielsa.

With close to half the season under their belt, Leeds are very much in the running to be promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season.

Leeds have won their last three games on the bounce and are second in the Championship table, just a point behind league leaders Norwich City after 20 league games.

The Whites scored a late winner against Sheffield United last weekend and have made a habit of fighting back into games despite falling behind.

Gray believes Leeds’ mentality to believe that they can come back from any situation is down to Bielsa and it has been a feature of his side this year.

He feels the mindset has been a huge change in the right direction at Elland Road this season.

“That’s the thing about this side”, the Leeds legend said on LUTV.

“Regardless of how they are playing or how the game is going, you always get the impression that they are going to get back into it.

“There are games we have played this season where the first half has been disappointing, but we are walking up the gantry saying, ‘we are winning the game’.

“You just get that feeling and that’s the mindset at the football club just now and that’s come from the coach.

“The mindset is regardless of how we are playing, we are going to win games.”

Leeds have lost just three times in the league this season thus far.
