Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack believes the Gers have progressed well this season and the club can assess where they are after the winter break.

Steven Gerrard’s side were beaten 1-0 by Aberdeen on Wednesday and subsequently dropped to second in the Scottish Premiership table, but they have been much more consistent this season and have pushed reigning champions Celtic, unlike last season.

Just four points separate the top four sides in the Premiership this season, as a right race develops.

Jack, who has featured in 10 Premiership games for Rangers this season, feels that the Gers have a good squad at their disposal under Gerrard this term.

“Of course we have progressed, and no disrespect to previous squads, but the quality of this squad is very high and for myself to be playing in that too, it’s been great so far”, Jack told a press conference via Rangers TV ahead of Rangers’ clash against Dundee in the Premiership.

“The league is tight but there is a lot of football still to be played and a lot of big games still to be played this month.

“I think after the January break is when we can assess it and see where we are.”

Rangers will hope to move level on points with leaders Celtic, who beat Kilmarnock on Saturday, when they lock horns with Dundee at Dens Park on Sunday.
