Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino feels the Lilywhites’ upcoming Champions League opponents Barcelona will not ease off, despite already confirming their status as Group B winners.

Barcelona have picked up 13 points from five games and are six points clear of both Tottenham and Inter, two teams who are vying for second place in the group.

Pochettino’s side are ahead of Inter, but need to match or better the Italian side’s result in the final matchday of the group.

Tottenham lost 4-2 to the Blaugrana when the two sides squared off at Wembley in early October and will hope to turn the tables on Tuesday.

But Pochettino explained that even though Barcelona have already sealed qualification as Group B winners, they are unlikely to take the foot off the gas.

“It will be a massive game”, Pochettino told his post Leicester press conference at the King Power Stadium.

“Yes, it is true that they [Barcelona] have qualified for the next stage, but in the Champions League no one is going to give a present and we need to win and deserve to win.

“Of course the mentality is going to be 200 per cent to win because it is a game that we must win.

“I think we are going to arrive in the best condition [now after beating Leicester], but we know very well that in front of us will be Barcelona, one of the best teams in Europe."

Tottenham beat Leicester on Saturday to retain their place in the top three of the Premier League table.
