Tottenham Hotspur legend Graham Roberts has lauded Harry Winks for his performance against Leicester City on Saturday at the King Power Stadium.

Winks started in midfield alongside Eric Dier and played the box to box role as Spurs won 2-0 to climb back up to third in the Premier League table.

It was Winks’ sixth start in the Premier League this season and he put in a solid performance in midfield as he finished the game with the second highest passing accuracy of all the players on the pitch.

Winks has done well in Mousa Dembele’s absence and Roberts feels the 22-year old ran the show against Leicester.

“Fantastic performance and a clean sheet with Dele Alli sensational tonight. Also thought Toby Alderweireld [was] immense.

“And Harry Winks ran the show in midfield”, Roberts wrote on Twitter after Tottenham’s 2-0 win.

The Tottenham academy product will hope to get more playing time in the coming weeks with a congested fixtures list over the Christmas period.

Spurs will play four times in a span of 12 days, starting with a clash against Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday.
