Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino insists that he trusts the younger players in the Spurs squad to do well when called upon and does not have any problem throwing them on in certain games.

The Lilywhites started the game against Leicester City on Saturday without the duo of Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen, and managed to pick a 2-0 win courtesy of goals from Heung-Min Son and Dele Alli.

Pochettino gave young Oliver Skipp a few minutes on the pitch against Southampton and against Leicester, it was Kyle Walker-Peters’ turn to get a bit of playing time.

The Argentine boss insists revealed that Walker-Peters is ready to play, as are the other young players who train with the rest of the first team squad.

“I think he's [Walker-Peters] ready to play”, Pochettino told a press conference after the win against Leicester City.

“All the players that we have in the squad, the younger ones like Oliver Skipp or Troy Parrott, who was involved today for the first time, it is because they are involved in the first team during days, during weeks, during months, and it is only to give the possibility to play.

“I do not doubt [them] and I am not worried about players who are injured or do not perform at their best, because we have another [one] who can replace them."

Spurs will next take on Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday as they seek to qualify for the next round; the Lilywhites will have to match or better Inter's result in the other Group B game.
