Rangers midfielder Jordan Rossiter has admitted that he is not sure if he made the best use of a rare opportunity presented to him by Steven Gerrard during the game against Dundee on Sunday.

The Gers were held to a 1-1 draw at Dens Park on Sunday in the Scottish Premiership as the hosts salvaged a point despite being reduced to 10-men as early as the 20th minute.

Kenny Miller’s opening goal for Dundee was cancelled out shortly after Nathan Ralph’s sending off when Andy Halliday netted his first league goal of the campaign to complete the scoring for the afternoon.

Gerrard opted for six changes in the starting eleven after the defeat to Aberdeen and subsequently, Rossiter was provided the opportunity to make only his third appearance in the Premiership this season.

Despite being provided with a rare starting role, Rossiter admitted that he is not sure if he was able to make the best use of it after Rangers dropped points yet again.

“It’s frustrating because I haven’t had many chances but I have been working hard and waiting patiently”, Rossiter told the club’s official website.

“The gaffer gave me my chance today and I don’t know whether I took it to be honest with you.

“You have to put the work in and be ready for when your chance does come.

"Regardless this was a massively disappointing day but I am sure we will put it right.”

Rangers are currently two points behind Celtic, who also have a game in hand, with 31 points from their 16 games so far this season in the Premiership.
