Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen believes that Harry Kane is at a level which means he could play for any side in world football.

Kane is leading Tottenham Hotspur's push in the Premier League and Champions League as he shows no sign of slowing down with his goal return, fresh off winning the Golden Boot at the World Cup in Russia.

The 25-year-old will bid to shoot down Vermaelen's Barcelona in the Champions League this week as Spurs go in hunt of a last 16 spot by matching or bettering Inter's result against PSV Eindhoven on the same night.

And Vermaelen has hailed Kane's qualities, which he feels mean he could play for any team.

"He scores goals but in play too he is strong, which is not so common now", Vermaelen told news agency AFP.

"He is at that level where he could play for any club in the world, a complete player, no doubt."

Despite Spurs having an inconsistent Champions League campaign, Kane has still netted four times in five games for Mauricio Pochettino's side.

In total the England international has found the back of the net 13 times this term.
