Rangers teenager Glenn Middleton has revealed that Gers coach Tom Culshaw has taken him under his wing in recent weeks on the training pitch. 

The 18-year-old has broken through into the first team set-up under boss Steven Gerrard and has not looked back, impressing on a number of occasions.




Gerrard has rewarded the teenager with regular game time and Middleton has made 20 appearances across all competitions, scoring five goals and providing four assists.

He is continuing to work on his game and revealed that Culshaw, who arrived at Ibrox with Gerrard in the summer and is the club's technical coach, has taken him under his wing on the training pitch.
 


"In the last couple of weeks especially TC [has taken me under his wing], working on my set plays", Middleton said on Rangers TV, when asked if any of the coaching staff have paid special attention to him.

"We have been getting a bit of joy recently.

"He always tells me where to put corners and what a team's weaknesses are at defending them.

"I have been pratcising them a lot and when it comes off in games it is that bit more special", the winger added.

Culshaw worked alongside Gerrard with Liverpool's Under-18s side and had been a coach at the Reds' academy since 2011.
