Leeds United have handed striker Patrick Bamford his first start since he picked up an injury in September, with the hitman picked in the club's Under-23 side to face Burnley, while midfielder Izzy Brown is continuing his comeback.

Bamford is hoping to work his way back into first team action and boss Marcelo Bielsa has been clear that he expects players to recover their sharpness in Under-23 games as a first step.

A strong team, with several first team players, has been named by Carlos Corberan to take on Burnley.

Young Will Huffer is in goal, while Lewis Baker and Brown, both on loan from Chelsea, are handed starts against the Clarets; Brown has yet to feature for Leeds since joining from Chelsea on loan in the summer, due to a cruciate injury.

Another loanee, Manchester City winger Jack Harrison, is also handed the chance to keep match sharp.

On the bench Corberan may choose to hand minutes to young defender Aapo Halme, who is now firmly in and around matchday squads for the senior team due to injury issues.

Bielsa will hope none of his first team stars pick up injuries in the Under-23 clash, with Leeds approaching a Christmas period packed full of games.
